What a wonderful weekend I had! Saturday I went through the Somersworth's Whistle Stop Garden Party Tour. It was a blast once again. Our first stop was Piece of Cake, where we got to see (and Jacob got to taste) how cake pops are made. We had some yummy treats while there and I picked up some candy molds for crayon making and an upcoming birthday party.
Our next stop was The Cozy Nest, where there was an Easter egg hunt with discounts in the eggs. Jacob was very excited to find his first, second and third egg (the last two giving to some that didn't find any...) I picked up my favorite Strawberry Kiwi candle, a garden journal for a gift, and some other little nick knacks!
We then drove downtown to The Frugal Scrapper, or as in our house the sticker store! Here I got to make a beautiful spring card (perfect for the garden themed birthday card the next day!) and pick up some dinosaur papers to scrap Jacob's birthday party! It had been a long time since we had been in the store and was very tempting not to go over board! :)
We then went to Casco Bay Studios, a little candle shop. Jacob had remembered that she had a dog from a year ago, so he was very entertained! We picked up some Lavender candles (my favorite for bath/shower time!) and some twisted birthday candles!
Our next stop was Market Street Serendipity. This is a fairly recent store to the town of Somersworth and they had a lot of cute antiques and were very reasonably priced.
We then visited Poppy Seed Studio, a very beautiful shop where we found the perfect hook for Chloe's headbands!! (I also got a little card with seeds inside ~free gift with purchase!)
Our last stop was Now and Then, where we were treated to more goodies (I lost track of how many cookies and treats Jacob ate that day!). I found some lovely lavender soap and a beautiful soap holder~ which I realized the other day we did not have! :)
It was a fun day of getting out of the house and into some local businesses!
We ended our day with the ALPHA Barn Dance at church! We had a great dinner, great company and learned some new dances from the Steven's family! Greg was quite the dancer!! Along with Jacob. I sat out a few with Chloe and of course someone had to take pictures! :)
Sunday we rose early for Sunday School and Church. It was a great lesson on stewardship and letting go of the $ idol in our life! You can find all our sermons at the DBC website. We then got to head over to a friends house for a surprise birthday party for our MOPs coordinator (and Pastor Chris's wife!). We ended up staying way too late~ a great sign of a great party! And then the day crashed... we came home to a dog who had panicked, messed everywhere in the shoe room! His nerves must have still been reeling because he was out in the middle of the night and then we woke up to more messes in the den. OH the way to start a Monday morning!
I pray each of you had a better morning then we did here... But the rest of the day is looking very very promising!
